Want a more personal service? Then how about hiring a guide for your group (min. 2 people) to take you on custom made trips in and around Vatnajökull National Park. This idea is designed for those who want to experience hiking in ancient valleys on and around spectacular glaciers, go ice climbing, explore little known ice caves, go canyoning in rivers of snow melt. We favour this unique idea, as it gives us a chance to really personalise trips to what YOU want to do. Create your own adventure with us now! What's Included? - Certified and Experienced Adventure Guide/s - Knowledgeable and locally based guide/s (see 'Your Guides') - Guide/s will carry first aid kit, emergency communication, rescue equipment. - Necessary safety equipment (crampons, helmet, harness, ice axe/s, wetsuits etc.) Difficulty rating - At a minimum you should be able to hike at least 5km, but we will go at the pace of your group. - Be accustomed to walking on uneven grounds. - You will be asked to declare any medical conditions to your guide/s that will or could have an impact on a trip. If you are unsure if a medical condition will impact the trip, please email us at iceguardiansinfo@gmail.com How large can our group be? - We operate on a low client to guide ratio to maintain safety and maximise your experiences. Our advice is to have a maximum of 8 people in your group. However, if you have more than 8 people, we can make extra guides available depending on the activity plan at the same price per person. - Minimum age 12 (guide has the right to ask for ID) What should I bring? - Sturdy hiking or mountaineering boots (shoes with good ankle support, see FAQs). - Small/medium sized backpack for your personal belongings. - 1L Water per person. - Waterproof jacket and pants. - Warm clothes, sunglasses, cap/beanie, gloves (see FAQs). - Snack/s are useful (sandwiches, breakfast bar, jerky etc.). - Camera/ mobile phone to capture your memories. (for tripods/drones see FAQs) - Your own vehicle for transporting your group around. - Your guide's will meet at your accommodation every morning or at the location of an activity. - This trip is built to fit around your holiday!
