Private Ice Climbing Coaching
A full day of ice climbing coaching on a glacier of Vatnajökull.
Service Description
Up to 8 hours spent hiking to and ice climbing multiple faces and/or moulins on an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull with expert guided instruction. You will start on a relatively low grade climb and progress to increased steepness up to vertical or more during the day. If you enjoy heights and looking down bottomless pits, then you will get the opportunity to go down and climb out of glacier moulins, most probably one of the scariest glacier features. This is a PRIVATE trip to allow for maximum progression and contact time with your guide and coach. A minimum of 2 persons and a maximum of 4 persons are allowed on this trip. What's included: - AIMG Hard Ice Guide & Wilderness First Responder. - Guide experienced in hard ice coaching and instruction. - Safety equipment (crampons, ice axe/s, harness, helmet). - Guide carries rope, climbing & rescue gear, medical kit, emergency communication device. - Quality ice climbing/mountain boots (please let us know your shoe size ASAP) What's NOT included - Wool/Synthetic Clothing (waterproof jacket/pants, breathable base layers, midweight layers and heavyweight insulation layer) - Lunch, snacks and water/drinks Please get in touch to ice-guardiansinfo@gmail.com to book this trip and communicate directly with a guide.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule your trip, you MUST give 48 hours notice prior to when your original trip starts. If YOU cancel within the 48 hours notice period your booking will not be refunded. THE WEATHER, if conditions are severe enough to force Ice Guardians to cancel a trip, the option to rebook for another day will be made available. Poor weather does not necessarily mean dangerous, Ice Guardians will operate in rain, hail, snow and wind as long as it does not affect safety. We know that it is unlucky to get bad weather, but please remember that Iceland has an varied climate and there is nothing we can do about it. Hence, if rebooking a trip is not viable, we will offer a full refund.
